E L I Z A B E T H

Amidst the rush I feel below

A tender touch calls out to me

Hard to hear above the melting snow

I feel a moment of peace

The gorge of the raging water stared

Down and into my soul

Its empty anger left me bare

The screams kept me hollow

You came silently

Like a deer in the morning dew

With grace felt so violently

I crashed into the ocean blue

In your arms

I know there is such thing as hope

You’ve silenced my alarms

You cast your love as a rope

Down the cliff

Rescuing me from the assured plunge

I hear a shift

My previous sins expunged

You are the hand

Pulling me from the violence

Your beauty demands

Awe and reverence

I will find an answer

You hold the key

To forgetting the cancer

Inside of me
